Dear Puppy People,

I’m Terry Cross & I’m on a mission to help people raise amazing puppies; I’m convinced that kids need great puppies, and parents need the tools to help them raise great puppies with a minimum of stress so they’ll allow the kids to have a dog in the first place!

Not only have I bred, trained, and shown amazing dogs from Irish Wolfhounds to Dobermans to beautiful Collies and even tiny Miniature Dachshunds since the early 80s (I started young!). I’ve also worked as a veterinary technician, doing everything from caring for hospitalized pets to assisting in animal surgery to managing animal hospitals. I eventually opened my own popular boarding kennel in Charleston, SC. For two decades I cared for pets of every description, learning how they think and, more importantly, how their owners cared for and managed them. I even spent several years grooming professionally, more great experience but way too much hard work!

All of those career paths have given me an incredible amount of practical daily experience in caring for pets; an experience that I quickly learned most pet owners lacked and needed to live better lives with their dogs, starting the first day their puppy arrived in her bewildering new home.

I must warn you, this is an extensive course is all things puppy, with new chapters being added all the time. The plan is to turn it into a complete resource from puppyhood to senior dog.

My goal is to help not only train and love your puppy well but also to address her health and dietary needs, grooming issues, keeping her safe, and the million other things that most people have to learn the hard way. My job is to give you the tools to care for your dog whatever her age, including the all-important senior years.

Well, that’s enough about me for now; I do go on and I love to write so be prepared! I’ll try to keep it light and fun with lots of delightful watercolor illustrations and photos.

I even promise to make it super kid-friendly with a wonderful Certificate of Completion for those little people who go through the materials and complete the course! You might not believe it but your children will love this book and many of them quickly become experts in all things puppy and are soon directing you, their parents in the proper way to care for the new addition to the family.

Don’t be afraid to bring the kids onboard and give them the knowledge and skills to help with everything from feeding to those all-important trips to the potty spot.
